We are working with a successful engineering practice who are looking to appoint an experienced Associate Structural Engineer to join its busy office on the outskirts of Brighton. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong and commercially aware engineer to take on a senior role combining project delivery, team leadership, client management and business development.

The successful candidate will lead structural engineering projects from design through to completion, manage workloads and provide technical guidance to engineers and technicians. The role will also involve attending client and project meetings, site visits and design meetings, while developing strong relationships with clients, architects, contractors and other external stakeholders.

A key part of the position will be helping to grow the client base across a range of sectors, identifying new opportunities, preparing fee proposals and contributing to the continued development of the business. Responsibilities will also include reviewing calculations, drawings and reports as part of the quality assurance process, as well as supporting the recruitment, development and management of staff across UK and international teams.

The ideal candidate will be a Chartered or near-Chartered Structural Engineer with strong technical, communication and leadership skills, together with the confidence to take on greater commercial and managerial responsibility.
