Conrad Consulting are working with an established main contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to join their team. With a strong pipeline of work across the Central Belt of Scotland, this is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager to take ownership of high-quality construction projects while working for a well-established and forward-thinking contractor. This company deals with a variety of projects including retail, commercial, healthcare and education developments from start to finish.
The successful candidate will have responsibility for the delivery of projects from pre-construction through to completion, working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams.
The Role of the Project Manager:
- Managing projects from pre-start through to practical completion and handover.
- Leading site teams and coordinating subcontractors and suppliers.
- Developing and managing project programmes.
- Monitoring project costs, budgets and commercial performance.
- Managing procurement and subcontractor packages.
- Maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships.
- Chairing and attending project meetings.
- Managing project risks, issues and opportunities.
- Ensuring compliance with health & safety requirements.
- Maintaining high standards of quality throughout the project.
- Working closely with commercial, design and operational teams.
- Providing regular project updates to senior management.
Requirements of the Project Manager:
- Proven experience delivering construction projects for a main contractor.
- Experience taking projects from pre-construction through to completion.
- Strong knowledge of construction, programming, procurement and project delivery.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Strong commercial awareness.
- The ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
- A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach.
- Relevant construction qualification or degree.
- SMSTS and CSCS.
- Full UK driving licence.
