Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join their Birmingham office on a permanent, full-time basis. This role offers the opportunity to take a leading position in the design and delivery of civil engineering projects, including site development works, earthworks, road design, underground drainage systems, and utility infrastructure.
The successful candidate will manage all stages of civil engineering design, from concept through to detailed design and construction support, including handling site queries and design changes.
You will work closely with clients, contractors, and project teams, providing expert technical advice and acting as the primary point of civil engineering input throughout the project lifecycle. The role also involves supporting bid submissions with man-hour estimates and technical documentation, while ensuring all work complies with contractual, regulatory, and internal policy requirements.
Applicants should hold a degree in Civil Engineering, with Chartered status (ICE) preferred. Proven expertise in civil design, including drainage systems, earthworks, and utility works, is essential.
Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, PDS, Windes, or AutoTrack is required, along with experience supporting construction stages of projects.
Strong communication skills, an ability to engage with stakeholders, and a proactive, solutions-focused attitude are key, as is the capability to take on leadership or management responsibilities when needed.
