Conrad Consulting is recruiting for an experienced Associate Building Surveyor to join a successful property consultancy in Bedfordshire.
This is a highly project-focused role offering the opportunity to take a senior position within the Building Surveying team and lead the delivery of a varied portfolio of refurbishment, alteration and maintenance projects.
You will have responsibility for projects from inception through to completion, including:
- Project management of major refurbishment and alteration schemes
- Contract administration
- Preparation of specifications and tender documentation
- Procurement and tender analysis
- Project monitoring and site inspections
- Contractor and consultant management
- Defect diagnosis and remedial works
- Planned maintenance and major repair programmes
- Technical due diligence
- Building surveys and condition assessments
- Project reporting and financial monitoring
- Client relationship management
- Business development and winning new instructions
- Mentoring and developing junior surveyors
The position will suit an MRICS Building Surveyor who is commercially minded and enjoys the delivery and management of projects rather than a predominantly professional surveying role.
The ideal candidate
- MRICS qualified
- Strong project-focused Building Surveying background
- Consultancy experience
- Proven track record managing projects from inception to completion
- Strong contract administration and JCT knowledge
- Excellent technical and specification-writing skills
- Confident managing clients, contractors and consultants
- Commercially aware with leadership and business development experience
