The Practice

The practice are an AJ100 company that were founded over 50 years ago. A recognisable name within the Midlands Architecture circuit, and a well known practice UK wide and internationally. Made up of over 100 employees across 8 offices in the UK and internationally, the company boasts a wealth of experience across Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Interior Design.

The company work across a broad range of sectors and project types, and have delivered innovative and widely known projects in areas such as; Healthcare, Education, Residential, Commercial and more. The Birmingham office have historically worked predominantly in the Education sector, focusing on Higher Education in particular. However, over the years there has been more of a balance of work, with a fairly even split between Education, Residential and Commercial focused work.

Based near the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham city centre, the office is ideally located for those living in and around the Birmingham area. The practice are based within walking distance of Birmingham New Street and the Jewellery Quarter train stations, ideal for rail commuters.

The Position

The position available is for an Architect to join the Birmingham office on a permanent basis. The position will see you working with established and experienced Senior & Associate Architects within one of the UK\'s leading firms, enabling you to develop at a fast rate at a crucial part of your career to date.

The practice love to promote from within, especially when it comes to Architects. They pride themselves on their ability to mentor and develop Architects and encourage promotions through to Associate level and beyond. Given the plans for growth the Birmingham office has, this role could see you moving into a management position in the not too distant future.

The Architect for this post will ideally have at least a couple of years of post qualification experience. Both design and technical capabilities will be needed for this role, so an Architect with \"well-rounded\" experience would be ideal. With the practice working in Residential, Commercial and Education schemes predominantly, you will be exposed to a wide and diverse range of projects.

Skills & Qualifications

  • UK recognised qualifications at Part 1, 2 & 3 level.
  • Approx. 2-5 years of post qualification experience.
  • Both design and technical capabilities, having worked on most if not all RIBA stages.
  • Experience working in a broad range of sectors with Residential & Education work being of high interest.
  • AutoCAD and Revit proficiency (essential)
  • A willingness and eagerness to learn and progress.
