Are you ready to deliver innovative civil/structural engineering designs on projects in power, energy and renewables sectors? Do you want to design sustainable, intelligent designs? Do you have a full clean driver’s licence and your own transport to visit sites?
This is a full-time, permanent position requiring travel to construction sites on an ad hoc basis, sometimes during unsociable hours. The role offers hybrid working with the successful candidate able to work from home 2 days a week.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage the design of civil/structural engineering projects in power, energy and renewables sectors.
- Interpret design requirements and analyse complex structures with attention to detail.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and ensure health and safety management, including CDM risk registers.
- Visit construction sites as required and support project delivery from concept through to completion.
- Degree level qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in a design consultancy (ideally leading and managing design of projects in power, energy or renewables).
- Strong knowledge of UK design codes and standards; proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., Tekla, Tedds, Robot).
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, analytical and design skills.
- Strong health and safety management experience including CDM risk registers.
- Experience with National Grid, DNOs or renewable energy developers is advantageous.
- Desirable: Masters level degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and near or Chartered membership of a relevant professional body (ICE or IStructE).
