An established and award-winning AJ100 Architectural practice are seeking a Site Inspector to join their Building Safety team in London. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality inspection services across complex residential and mixed-use projects, contributing to safer and more sustainable communities. As a Site Inspector, you'll bring your passion for design safety, technical expertise, and leadership skills to ensure effective implementation of health and safety requirements across projects. You'll be integral in supporting project leaders to embed safety in design, while also representing the practice externally and helping to develop new business opportunities in this field.
Roles and Responsibilities:- Carry out façade and internal fire safety inspections, including Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs), across new build and existing residential developments.
- Inspect fire safety measures on construction sites to ensure compliance with building regulations, NHBC standards, and project specifications.
- Conduct site visits and prepare clear, detailed technical reports with photographs to document findings.
- Liaise with contractors, consultants, and project teams to address non-conformances and support best practice.
- Contribute to façade investigations and support the wider Building Safety team on technical matters.
- Travel to sites throughout London and the wider UK as required.
- Clear and confident communicator, with strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver precise, well-structured technical reports.
- Extensive knowledge base covering building regulations, NHBC requirements, façade design, high-rise construction practices, and the safe use of combustible materials.
- Professional qualifications at Level 6 in construction, or an HNC/HND or degree in a construction-related discipline.
- Hands-on experience carrying out inspections of fire safety systems on complex residential and mixed-use developments.
- Membership of a recognised body such as RICS, CIOB, CABE, ICWCI, or MIFireE is advantageous.
- Career experience - Architect, Technician, Surveyor, Construction or Fire engineer will be considered.
