Position Overview The Depot Operations Manager is a vital role within our group, responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our Stoke-on-Trent depot. This role is crucial to the continual improvement of processes and systems, driving the depot to its full potential on a day-to-day basis. Key Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: Stock Management: Manage the stock control of both new products and the hire fleet, including: Analysing product lines to determine high-performing and potential growth areas Maintaining accurate stock records Overseeing goods-in process, including washing and repair assessments Customer Service: Provide 1st class service to all customers, including: Addressing customer requests promptly and professionally Resolving customer concerns and complaints raised by the sales team Exceeding customer expectations through exceptional performance Communicating with the Client Operations Department to ensure timely and accurate availability of stock for customer orders Transport Management: Maintain compliance procedures, such as FORS Ensure drivers meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Collaborate with the transport team at head office to coordinate vehicles Staff Management: Lead and manage all staff at the Stoke-on-Trent depot (excluding sales representatives), including: Providing work cover planning for holidays and sickness Training, developing, and motivating staff Recognising and providing feedback on individual performance Fostering a positive and efficient team attitude General Depot Management: Maintain organisation and tidiness of the depot Ensure compliance with Quality, Health & Safety standards, and industry legislation Adhere to Conquip\’s processes and procedures Consistently meet workflow requirements from head office Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Efficiency of daily depot operations Consistent efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction Key Personality Traits: Ability to work efficiently under pressure Effective communication skills, both written and verbal Excellent organisational skills Proactive, problem-solving attitude Positive and motivating attitude Prioritisation and time management skills Collaborative and strategic mindset Forklift licence is beneficial Proficient in Microsoft O365 suite and industry-specific rental systems Aligned with Conquip\’s core values Ability to deliver team briefings and toolbox talks If you are interested in this key vacancy within our group, please apply directly to this advert or reach out to our Head of Recruitment for an informal chat.
