The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Press Brake Operative to join our busy and expanding manufacturing team based in Alton. This role offers an excellent career opportunity for individuals experienced in operating and setting CNC press brakes within a fast-paced production environment. We are also willing to train or up-skill candidates who are used to working within a busy production environment, providing they demonstrate both a strong work ethic and long term commitment to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and set CNC Press Brakes accurately, following engineering drawings and production requirements.
- Produce high-quality components to specification, ensuring adherence to agreed tolerances.
- Select, install and maintain appropriate tooling, including punches and dies.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, work instructions and specifications with precision.
- Perform dimensional checks using verniers, callipers and other measuring equipment.
- Make necessary machine adjustments to maintain product quality.
- Maintain machinery and keep work areas clean, safe and organised at all times.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency.
- Operate overhead cranes and forklift trucks, where authorised and trained.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in operating and setting CNC Press Brakes.
- Competent in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Experienced in using measuring tools such as callipers and verniers.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and consistently meet production targets.
- Proactive problem-solving skills with a positive attitude.
- Forklift Truck and/or Overhead Crane experience is advantageous.
