Conquer AI is hiring a Freelance Recruiter to support our growth across London and New York. We’re looking for a UK-based freelance recruiter with strong experience hiring AI, ML, and software engineering talent. You’ll support our Head of Recruitment as we scale a high-calibre technical team across the UK and US. This is a hands-on sourcing and delivery role, focused on finding exceptional engineers across AI, machine learning, LLMs, RAG, Python, TypeScript, Node.js, and modern software engineering.
This is not a generic recruitment role. We need someone who understands technical talent markets, can identify strong engineering profiles quickly, and knows how to engage people who are not actively looking.
What you’ll be doing:
- Sourcing AI, ML, and software engineering candidates across London and New York
- Supporting our Head of Recruitment with active hiring campaigns
- Building targeted LinkedIn searches and talent maps
- Identifying strong candidates across AI engineering, ML engineering, software engineering, and forward deployed engineering
- Writing personalised outreach that actually gets replies
- Screening candidates for technical relevance, communication, and motivation
- Helping manage candidate pipelines and recruitment tracking
- Supporting hiring across permanent and freelance engineering roles
- Representing Conquer AI in a sharp, professional, high-energy way

We’re looking for someone with:
- Proven experience recruiting software engineers
- Specific experience across AI, ML, LLMs, data, or advanced engineering hiring
- Strong LinkedIn Recruiter / sourcing capability
- Confidence building Boolean searches and targeted talent pools
- Experience hiring in London, New York, or both
- Ability to assess engineering profiles beyond surface-level keywords
- Strong written communication and candidate engagement skills
- A proactive, organised, delivery-focused working style
- Comfort working in a fast-moving startup or scale-up environment
Nice to have:
- Experience hiring forward deployed engineers or client-facing technical profiles
- Experience hiring for Python, TypeScript, Node.js, LLMs, RAG, or agentic AI roles
- Existing network across AI / ML engineering talent
- Experience supporting US hiring, especially New York
- Agency or embedded recruitment background
