Conquer AI is hiring a Hands-on AI Tech Lead. We’re looking for someone who can sit at the intersection of engineering, architecture, and real client problem-solving. This is not a slideware role. You’ll be working directly with senior clients to understand complex operational workflows, whiteboard where agentic AI can remove manual effort, design the solution, and work hands-on with engineers to get it built.
At Conquer AI, we build bespoke AI systems for enterprise clients. These are often greenfield projects, focused on automating real business processes across documents, data, workflows, approvals, communications, and decision support. You’ll also work on our own internal product development as we turn repeated client patterns into reusable AI systems.
What you’ll do:
- Work directly with clients to understand messy business workflows
- Whiteboard and solutionise where agentic AI can automate or augment work
- Design practical AI architectures across LLMs, data, APIs, workflows, and systems
- Stay close to the engineering, not just the architecture
- Build and guide solutions using Python, Node.js, TypeScript, LLMs, RAG, agents, and integrations
- Help shape greenfield AI projects from idea through to production
- Work across client delivery and Conquer’s own AI product development
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Strong hands-on software engineering experience
- Experience building real AI, LLM, RAG, agentic, or automation systems
- Strong backend engineering capability, ideally across Python, Node.js, or TypeScript
- Comfort working with APIs, data flows, integrations, and enterprise systems
- The ability to speak clearly with clients and translate complexity into practical solutions
- High ownership, strong judgement, and comfort with ambiguity
This is probably not right if:
- You only want to manage people and stay away from the code
- You prefer pure research over building production systems
- You need a highly defined role with narrow responsibilities
- You are not comfortable working directly with clients
Why Conquer AI?
- Greenfield AI work
- Real enterprise problems
- Client-facing ownership
- No heavy hierarchy
- Equity with every hire
- Salary growth linked to business success
- A chance to help shape how agentic AI is deployed inside major organisations
Location: UK-based
Working style: Hybrid / flexible, with client and team sessions when needed
Role type: Full-time
If you’re an engineer who wants more ownership, more client exposure, and more meaningful AI problems to solve, we’d like to speak with you.
