Job Summary: The Platform Reliability Engineer supports business-critical commercial trading platforms and transformation solutions across hybrid and cloud environments. The role ensures reliable production operations, rapid incident response, controlled releases, automation, and operational readiness for trading, scheduling, risk, settlement, reporting, and end-of-day processes.
Position Overview: Your responsibilities may include:
- Platform reliability: Maintain stability, availability, performance, monitoring, and continuity across production and non-production environments.
- Incident and problem management: Restore service quickly, coordinate escalations, complete root-cause analysis, and address recurring issues.
- Transformation support: Support environment readiness, migration, testing, deployment, release validation, and transition to support for new platforms.
- Security and compliance: Follow change controls and support access governance, SOX, cybersecurity, audit, and operational-risk requirements.
- Stakeholder communication: Communicate status, impact, risks, and recovery plans clearly to business, technology, vendor, and leadership stakeholders.
- Continuous improvement: Document fixes, improve knowledge articles, automate repeatable activities where practical, and strengthen service stability.
Technical Responsibilities: Monitor and support applications, infrastructure, databases, middleware, integrations, and cloud services across hybrid environments. Triage application, database, server, network, middleware, integration, batch-processing, and cloud-service issues. Support controlled deployments, validation, environment readiness, and production release activities. Automate support, deployment, validation, monitoring, and documentation activities using approved DevOps and scripting tools. Analyze SQL and Oracle data, logs, APIs, middleware, batch processing, and data pipelines to restore service and support root-cause analysis. Support operational readiness, backup, recovery, resiliency, availability, performance, and disaster-recovery activities.

Basic Qualifications:
- 7 or more years of experience in platform engineering, production support, DevOps, site reliability engineering, application operations, or infrastructure operations.
- 5 or more years of experience supporting business-critical production platforms with defined availability, escalation, and service-restoration expectations.
- Direct troubleshooting experience across applications, databases, servers, networks, middleware, integrations, and cloud services.
- Experience supporting on-call, shift-based, or follow-the-sun operations for global or time-sensitive business functions.
Technical Skill Set:
- Platform engineering: Experience supporting applications, infrastructure, databases, middleware, integrations, monitoring, and cloud services.
- Commercial trading platforms: Knowledge of ETRM, CTRM, energy or commodity trading, risk, coordination, scheduling, settlement, or comparable critical platforms.
- Production reliability: Strong incident management, root-cause analysis, service-level, resiliency, availability, performance, and operational-readiness capabilities.
- Hybrid and cloud operations: Working knowledge of Windows, Linux, virtual machines, networking, storage, identity, Azure or AWS, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery.
- DevOps and automation: Experience with CI/CD, PowerShell, Bash, Python, Terraform, Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jenkins, or similar tools.
- Data and integration troubleshooting: Ability to analyze SQL and Oracle data, logs, APIs, batch processing, middleware, and data pipelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to create clear runbooks, troubleshooting guides, known-error records, and handover notes.
- Experience supporting energy or commodities trading processes and applications.
- Experience improving support operations through automation, reusable playbooks, and continuous improvement.
- Experience using GitHub Copilot or similar tools responsibly for code analysis, test creation, and support automation.
- ITIL Foundation, Microsoft Azure, GitHub, or related production support, cloud, or DevOps certification.
- Analyzes complex applications, integration, and data-flow issues to identify practical solutions and preventive actions.
- Works effectively with business users, application teams, platform and infrastructure teams, vendors, and regional support partners.
- Communicates business impact, technical findings, recovery status, and next steps clearly in written and verbal updates.
- Applies structured troubleshooting to restore service, resolve recurring issues, and improve support processes.
- Applies security, change, release, documentation, and operational control requirements consistently.
