The ConocoPhillips Norsea Terminal, located in Teesside at the mouth of the river Tees, is a crude oil reception, processing, storage, and trans-shipment installation. The terminal also fractionates natural gas liquids into ethane, propane, and butane. The terminal’s success is built on its high performing workforce and can provide opportunities throughout your career to progress and continually develop.
Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, the Electrical Technician will work as part of the Operations and Maintenance team to deliver planned and reactive maintenance activities, support compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, and contribute to continuous improvement across plant reliability, availability and performance. They will support the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the Teesside site by installing, maintaining, fault-finding and repairing electrical equipment, systems and associated components.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified Electrical Technician with strong practical maintenance experience, ideally gained within a process, oil and gas, or COMAH-regulated environment. They will have a sound understanding of electrical equipment, safe systems of work and relevant standards, with the ability to fault-find, repair and maintain plant equipment safely and effectively. A call-out rota is in place for this post.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Actively support the Electrical Maintenance Function
- Interpret job requirements from preventative maintenance instruction, specifications and/or other documentation
- Install electrical equipment in accordance with established standards, limits, fits, tolerances, procedures and guidelines
- Maintain and repair electrical equipment with established standards, limits, fits, tolerances, with established PM routines, procedures and guidelines
- Support the ENABLON process and adopt the role of Permit Acceptor as appropriate
- Provide feedback on all maintenance tasks to allow collation of asset history
- Diagnose physical cause of electrical equipment breakdown/failure and propose/complete repairs to the site standards
- Generate SAP Material Requisition for work orders and projects
- Create/Close SAP notifications for defects
- Assist in reviews and development of relevant section procedures, PM routines and risk assessments
- Respond to any out of hours call out
- Assist the planning department in the planning of PM01 and PM02 jobs as directed by the supervisor
- Prepare jobs for execution in support of the schedule under direction of the supervisor
- Undertake and record After Action Reviews to improve job planning and execution
Competency Requirements
- Relevant approved apprenticeship/NVQ level 3 or equivalent
- Minimum City & Guilds/ONC certificate in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of electrical equipment
- Knowledge of DSEAR and ATEX legislation
- Extensive experience in a maintenance role within the oil and gas industry
- Hold a Full UK driving licence
- Ability to use Microsoft packages and SAP
- Appropriate Physical and Mental Capability to undertake the role
