The opportunity:

The People & Operations Assistant will play a pivotal role in supporting the HR function, and maintaining team culture. This role is perfect for someone who is highly organized, proactive, people-oriented, and eager to grow within a purpose-led business.

Some of what you\’ll do:

People administration and experience:

HR Administration & Operations

  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including contracts, equipment, welcome packs, and checklists.

Maintain and update HRIS and employee databases.

Help coordinate training, development, and wellbeing initiatives.

Assist in organizing team events, offsites, and internal communications.

Ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures.

  • Support recruitment logistics: interview scheduling, posting job ads, candidate communications.

Operational administrative support:

Office administration, including ordering supplies, and travel booking

Data entry and reporting, including CRM administration

Act as a liaison between departments to ensure processes run smoothly

  • Process improvement: Helping document and streamline internal processes or assist with system updates

Who you are:

  • 2+ years of experience in HR admin, office coordination, or similar roles (startup/scale-up experience a plus).
  • Understanding of HR processes and confidentiality
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and great at multitasking.
  • Discreet and trustworthy with access to confidential information.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment with changing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with tools like Google Workspace, and HR and CRM platforms

Nice to have:

Experience in a sustainability, impact, or mission-driven organization.

Familiarity with employment legislation or HR compliance in UK.

A passion for sustainability and building inclusive team cultures.
