Are you a visionary leader with unparalleled expertise in nature and climate strategy, ready to drive impactful change on a global scale? Our client is looking for a Chief Nature and Climate Officer (CNCO) to drive strategic client engagement, guide product innovation, and lead market positioning in nature and climate intelligence as they scale their platform. Their products enable financial institutions, enterprises, consultancies, and NGOs to plan and deliver a sustainability strategy by leveraging the nature and climate insights provided. Staying on top of the latest science, regulation and sentiment around sustainability and feeding this into decision-making is the core purpose of this role.
This is a pivotal role at the intersection of science, business and technology. You will lead customer engagement, product innovation and market influence in nature and climate intelligence bridging rigorous science with real-world business needs. As a senior expert and ambassador, you will represent the company globally, helping organisations embed sustainability at the core of their strategies.
What you will do:
- Advise C-suite leaders on climate and nature strategies that deliver measurable impact.
- Translate complex environmental data into clear, actionable insights for clients.
- Feed into the product roadmap by aligning scientific rigour with platform development.
- Integrate sustainability into client operations and create lasting value.
- Act as a thought leader at global forums (e.g. COP, IPBES) and strengthen partnerships with key organisations such as UNEP-WCMC and the Nature Positive Initiative.
- Guide clients on compliance with frameworks such as TCFD, TNFD and CSRD, helping them turn obligations into opportunities.
- Communicate sustainability's financial and strategic benefits with clarity and purpose.
- Build trust through empathetic engagement and solutions that balance profit and impact.
Who you are:
- 20+ years advising major enterprises on climate and nature strategy, with top-tier consulting experience.
- Deep expertise in environmental science, global reporting frameworks and sector regulations, particularly in finance and high-emission industries.
- Proven track record of delivering sustainability outcomes through client-facing teams.
- Skilled at turning client needs into product requirements in collaboration with technical teams.
- Excellent communicator who influences senior audiences and aligns sustainability with commercial drivers.
- Confident global ambassador with experience representing organisations at international forums.
- Proactive and comfortable operating in a fast-growing scale-up.
- Masters or Ph.D. in Environmental Science, Climate Change, Sustainability or a related field (preferred).
