Junior Software Engineer
We're looking for a talented graduate developer to join small but highly professional technical team and contribute across the full software development lifecycle - from discovery and coding to testing, prototyping, deployment, and operations.

The opportunity:
You will be an analytical problem solver with strong logical reasoning skills and a curiosity for learning new technologies. With a foundation in software development, computing systems, data science, and machine learning, you're eager to build impactful software that solves real-world problems.
You'll work across the tech stack, developing responsive front-end components, scalable back-end services, databases, cloud, and DevOps solutions. You're detail-oriented, collaborative, and empathetic towards end users, with a focus on creating high-quality experiences.
You'll also contribute to code reviews, knowledge-sharing sessions, and continuous improvement while working alongside experienced colleagues and developing your skills.
Some of what you will do!
- Assist in writing code and maintaining software.
- Work on assigned tasks under senior developers guidance.
- Develop core technical skills (e.g. Python, Vue.js, Cloud services, DevOps,
- database).
- Contribute to troubleshooting and debugging code.
- Participate in software testing and quality assurance.
- Writing technical documentation for code processes and systems.
- Responding to support queries and engaging with internal stakeholders to
- resolve problems.
- Deployment and configuration of systems.
- Contributing to deployment and release processes.
What you need!
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Strong problem solving skills, application of algorithms to computing problems.
- Practical experience of software development.
- Front-end development technologies such as HTML, CSS, SaSS, ES6 and TypeScript.
- Hands-on experience applying core programming concepts in languages such as Python, Javascript, Java, Scala etc.
- Knowledge of Object Oriented programming design and analysis concepts.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience of web application development technologies such as HTML, CSS, SaSS, HTTP, JSON.
- Knowledge and experience of relational databases (SQL, RDMS, ER Diagrams).
Nice to have!
- Practical knowledge of using reactive frontend frameworks (e.g., Vue.js, React, Svelte, Vuetify, Bootstrap).
- Practical experience using Cloud Platform (such as Google Cloud, AWS, Azure).
- Foundational knowledge of ML and AI technologies (e.g. linear regression, logistic regression, decision trees, clustering, neural networks, reinforcement learning, generative models).
- Knowledge and experience of relational and / or document databases (SQL, RDMS, MongoDB, Firestore).
- Knowledge of data science libraries and tools such as pandas, Numpy Plotly, MatplotLib, SciKit-learn, Tensor Flow, keras, xarray.
- Knowledge of geospatial technologies such as PostGIS, gdal, ogr2ogr, BigQuery, MapBox, GMaps.
- Knowledge of remote sensing technologies (e.g. Google Earth Engine, ESRI shapefiles, geoJSON, geoTiffs, zarr, geo parquet, GIS).
