This includes Volvo Pavers, Road Planers, JCB Streetmasters, Tanker Sprayers, Skidsteers, Chippers, Rollers of all sizes, Volvo Low-Loaders, 6- and 8-Wheeler Tippers, and custom-designed Welfare Vans.
As a Workshop Fitter, you'll be responsible for the daily maintenance, servicing, and emergency repair of this fleet, both in the workshop and on site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
- Carry out routine servicing and repairs on HGVs and plant machinery
- Attend breakdowns and perform emergency repairs on site when required
- Conduct diagnostic testing and fault-finding to identify root causes
- Replace damaged or defective components and fabricate parts when necessary
- Road test vehicles to ensure operational safety and performance
- Accurately record maintenance, servicing, and repair activities
- Liaise with operations, transport, and site teams to coordinate repairs
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with safety regulations and PPE requirements
- Remove defective tools, vehicles, or equipment from service immediately
- Report near misses and contribute to a safety-first culture
- Participate in on-call rota and support occasional night and weekend work
What We're Looking For:
