A bit about the role
As our Quality and Compliance Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining, developing and championing Connolly's Integrated Management System (IMS). You'll ensure our projects consistently deliver the highest levels of quality, safety and compliance while supporting operational teams and the wider supply chain to work to best practice standards. Working closely with our CEO and senior leadership team, you will positively influence behaviours, reduce defects, support certification needs and drive continuous improvement across the business.
What you will be responsible for:
- Promote and embed the IMS across all business units, ensuring consistent use of processes and controls
- Deliver IMS inductions and quality awareness training
- Support project teams and supply chain partners to meet quality requirements
- Champion positive behaviours to reduce defects and customer issues
- Plan and deliver an annual internal audit programme in line with ISO 19011
- Conduct contract reviews to assess compliance and quality risks
- Report clear findings and support corrective & preventive actions
- Track and close out actions through EcoOnline and Quality Tracker
- Produce monthly quality performance reports for senior leaders
- Monitor non-conformances, defects, complaints and improvement actions
- Support the investigation of root causes and drive preventive solutions
- Coordinate external certification audits for ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001
- Manage accreditation requirements including NICEIC, FENSA, PAS 2030, CHAS and SafeContractor
- Prepare audit documentation and support assessors during site visits
- Ensure subcontractors meet Connolly's quality and accreditation standards
- Verify supplier certifications and qualifications
- Support operational teams with supply chain performance and risks
- Lead improvement initiatives with key subcontractors
- Review feedback from audits, incidents, complaints and lessons learned
- Update IMS processes to reflect best practice and industry changes
- Work collaboratively with operational and corporate teams to ensure the IMS stays practical, relevant and effective
- Champion the use of FieldView, Dalux, SharePoint, Biosite, EcoOnline and document management platforms
- Support site teams to improve digital reporting and documentation
- Maintain effective digital control of quality documentation
What we'd like from you:
- Experience in the construction industry preferably in the planned maintenance environment, Social Housing ideally
- Quality Practitioner (PCQI) or working towards Chartered Quality Professional (CQP MCQI)
- IRCA-trained Internal Integrated Auditor
- Strong understanding of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001
- Knowledge of NICEIC, FENSA, PAS 2030/2035 and related schemes
- Experience within construction, refurbishment or engineering
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Highly organised, analytical and detail-focused
- Able to coach, mentor and support behaviour change
- Positive, proactive and committed to continuous improvement
- Willing to travel regionally to sites
- Full driving licence
