This role is for working co-located in temporary accommodation for those fleeing domestic abuse who are over the age of 16. You'll help maintain an effective support service with the aim of enabling the survivor to develop the skills and resources necessary to move on from abuse and maintain independence and self-reliance. You will be required to travel between our safe locations to provide support, in response to the changing needs of the service and temporary accommodation sites.
We’re looking for someone with:
- An understanding of domestic violence, the dynamics, and the issues it can cause.
- An understanding of the potential impact of domestic abuse such as trauma and mental health issues, the effects these have on seeking support, and ideally having experience of working with such individuals.
- Experience of working with women, men, children and/or young people in crisis in a front-line service.
- Experience of supporting people within a residential or dispersed safe housing setting.
- Experience of multi-agency work.
This role will be subject to an enhanced DBS check. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and is open to women only. (Exemption under the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9, Part 1)
