We are looking for a qualified Approved Electrician to join our Building Safety & Compliance team and play a vital role in delivering our high-quality repairs, maintenance and compliance service. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrician who enjoys a varied role, takes pride in delivering excellent customer service, and wants to make a real difference to local communities.

About the role:

  • As an Approved Electrician, you will carry out a range of electrical installation, maintenance, testing and fault-finding work within occupied homes, communal areas and other Connexus properties.
  • You will ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with current regulations and company standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out electrical repairs, maintenance and installation work.
  • Testing, inspecting and certifying electrical systems.
  • Installing and maintaining fire alarms, emergency lighting, heating controls and door entry systems.
  • Diagnosing faults and completing repairs first time wherever possible.
  • Working in compliance with BS7671 Wiring Regulations and health and safety requirements.
  • Participating in the out-of-hours emergency repairs service on a rota basis.

About you:

  • We're looking for someone who has previous experience working as a qualified electrician with strong experience in domestic electrical repairs and maintenance, and can diagnose faults.
  • Is comfortable using handheld technology and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Has experience working safely in occupied properties and customer environments.
  • Can undertake associated basic multi-skilled tasks where required.

Essential qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
  • Completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship.
  • Current edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing (or equivalent).

Due to the nature of the role, a full UK driving licence is a prerequisite.
