We are looking for a qualified Approved Electrician to join our Building Safety & Compliance team and play a vital role in delivering our high-quality repairs, maintenance and compliance service. About the role:
- As an Approved Electrician, you will carry out a range of electrical installation, maintenance, testing and fault-finding work within occupied homes, communal areas and other Connexus properties.
- You will ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with current regulations and company standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out electrical repairs, maintenance and installation work.
- Testing, inspecting and certifying electrical systems.
- Installing and maintaining fire alarms, emergency lighting, heating controls and door entry systems.
- Diagnosing faults and completing repairs first time wherever possible.
- Working in compliance with BS7671 Wiring Regulations and health and safety requirements.
- Participating in the out-of-hours emergency repairs service on a rota basis.
About you:
- We're looking for someone who has previous experience working as a qualified electrician with strong experience in domestic electrical repairs and maintenance, and can diagnose faults.
- Is comfortable using handheld technology and Microsoft Office applications.
- Has experience working safely in occupied properties and customer environments.
- Can undertake associated basic multi-skilled tasks where required.
Essential qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
- Completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship.
- Current edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
- City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing (or equivalent).
Due to the nature of the role, a full UK driving licence is a prerequisite.
