We are looking for a qualified Approved Electrician to join our Building Safety & Compliance team and play a vital role in delivering our high-quality repairs, maintenance and compliance service.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrician who enjoys a varied role, takes pride in delivering excellent customer service, and wants to make a real difference to local communities.
About the role
As an Approved Electrician, you will carry out a range of electrical installation, maintenance, testing and fault-finding work within occupied homes, communal areas and other Connexus properties. You will ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and in line with current regulations and company standards.
Key responsibilities include:
Carrying out electrical repairs, maintenance and installation work.
Testing, inspecting and certifying electrical systems.
Installing and maintaining fire alarms, emergency lighting, heating controls and door entry systems.
Diagnosing faults and completing repairs first time wherever possible.
Working in compliance with BS7671 Wiring Regulations and health and safety requirements.
Participating in the out-of-hours emergency repairs service on a rota basis.
About you
We're looking for someone who:
Has previous experience working as a qualified electrician with strong experience in domestic electrical repairs and maintenance , and can diagnose faults
Is comfortable using handheld technology and Microsoft Office applications.
Has experience working safely in occupied properties and customer environments.
Can undertake associated basic multi-skilled tasks where required .
Essential qualifications
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
Completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship.
Current edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing (or equivalent).
Due to the nature of the role, a f ull UK driving licence is a prerequisite
