We are looking for trades with a multi-skilled background to work in our damp, mould & condensation team, as a DMC Technician. You will be our first response to reports of damp, mould or condensation and will visit customers to assess the issue, identify the root cause of problems and carry out remedial works to remove hazards and prevent recurrence.
Some of the works you will be required to undertake may include:
- Improving ventilation
- Removing mould and repainting
- Minor works to windows and doors
This role is important to our commitment to keeping our customers safe and is at the forefront of our approach to tackling problems of damp and mould. To be successful in this role, you should be comfortable in assessing the root cause of DMC issues, recommending a full survey where the root cause cannot be established at the first visit, and be comfortable talking to residents about DMC, providing information on the work being undertaken and giving advice to customers.
This is a crucial role for maintaining healthy living conditions, preserving the structural integrity of properties, and preventing further damage. You will be adhering to health and safety regulations, ensuring the service aims to provide homes that are safe, comfortable, and well maintained, which are met through the delivery of a ‘first time fix’ repair service.
Qualifications:
- City & Guilds or NVQ level 2 or 3 in trade qualification
- Must hold a current valid driving licence
- Willing to complete a Level 3 Award in Damp Mould and Condensation in Buildings Course, in the first 6 months of the role
- Will be subject to a basic DBS check
