This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner to develop their clinical practice in a leadership role. Benefits include a competitive salary, 25 days annual leave per year plus bank holidays, flexible working (within Standard Network Hours) and regular supervision and protected time for CPD.
Applications will be considered from experienced candidates who are working towards a prescribing qualification provided completion is due within the next twelve months. You will work directly with a small team of First Contact Practitioners to patients across our Primary Care network of Practices in South Bristol. You will need to have obtained or be in the process of obtaining an Advanced Practice qualification (post-grad diploma or degree, or Masters if qualified after 2020). You should also hold or be working towards a prescribing qualification.
Main duties of the job:
- Lead a small team of FCPs to maintain and develop high quality clinical services to our patients.
- Independently triage, assess, evaluate, and diagnose patients with highly complex disorders and possible multiple pathologies using advanced critical thinking, expert clinical and diagnostic reasoning skills.
- Justify clinically referrals to other specialist services including acute and specialist services such as surgical orthopaedics, rheumatology and neurology.
- Recognise RED flags, serious pathology and potential underlying non-MSK related disease, that may present as MSK symptoms and refer appropriately.
- Maintain timely and accurate patient document records to reflect care provided and to be professionally and legally accountable.
- Work collaboratively with practice and PCN colleagues in a multidisciplinary team.
- Take a personalised care and population centred care approach to enable shared decision making.
Service Development & Education:
- Lead and develop the service to improve practice and work collaboratively, implementing and evaluating evidence based standards, guidelines and policies.
- Identify and be actively involved in audit and research activity which will contribute to the development of the service.
- Plan and lead specific areas of PCN/practice developments.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the service and the team.
- Support/facilitate education and training within the PCN.
Research and Audit:
- Initiate and contribute to research in specialist field which will directly contribute to patient management.
- Develop and undertake regular audits which promote and facilitate service improvement.
Leadership:
- Establish strong working relationships with Physiotherapist and management of staff to encourage good clinical practice.
- Provide clinical support and advice to colleagues including Care Co-ordinators and Physiotherapist.
Person Specification:
- Good IT skills including use of GP clinical systems (EMIS web).
- Comfortable working in a range of settings including GP surgeries, Care Homes and patients own home with minimum support and supervision.
- Excellent communication skills to work with patients from a variety of backgrounds.
- Completion of an Undergraduate & Masters degrees in Physiotherapy.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.
- Experience of managing and providing clinical supervision to staff.
- Experience of clinical leadership and management of health services and projects.

£50,952 to £57,349 a year depending on experience.
