Join our client as a Plant Mechanic. We're offering an excellent chance for the ideal candidate to become part of our expanding equipment rental company. As a Plant Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of heavy machinery, ensuring optimal functionality, safety, and operational efficiency.

What you'll do:

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a wide range of heavy equipment, including powered access machinery.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using specialised tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance tasks to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to identify and prioritise equipment repair needs.
  • Effectively manage time and resources to meet maintenance schedules and minimise equipment downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, troubleshooting issues, and implementing timely solutions.
  • Communicate with supervisors and operators to understand equipment performance issues and gather relevant information for repairs.

What you'll need:

  • Previous experience working as a plant mechanic in the repair of plant and equipment or similar.
  • Good all-round mechanical skills.
  • Leaving Cert or equivalent.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures and produce safe, high-quality work.
  • Highly organised with the ability to communicate effectively.
