A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing Association (MTVH) team working as our Community Centre Keyholder. This part-time, permanent position has arisen so MTVH can provide access to our community centres, mainly at weekends and weekday evenings, for our 3 community spaces. The role will work 25 hours a week on a shift pattern between the hours of 9:00 am to 9:30 pm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring timely access and safe and supported use of the community centres for groups mainly at weekends and weekday evenings.
  • Opening and closing community centres when they are booked for hirers and their guests.
  • Ensuring customer compliance with health and safety and other obligations during events.
  • Support with monitoring and marketing of projects.
  • Reporting repairs and maintenance issues as they arise.
  • Ensuring the premises is ready for the hirer or event organiser and putting equipment such as tables and chairs away after events.
  • Other duties will include light cleaning tasks, rubbish disposal and periodically allowing access to contractors.
  • Cash handling of security deposits as needed.
  • Showing hirers health, safety, and fire procedures during hire.

We encourage applications from MTVH residents living in Lambeth who are available to work at weekends and weekday evenings mainly and have a flexible approach to work, able to work as and when required, able to problem solve in a quick and effective manner, maintain high performance standards, and can work alone without close guidance.

To meet our commitment to providing a safe & high quality service to our customers we will complete a basic background check with the Disclosure and Barring Service, once an offer of employment is made. A new check will be completed every three years. The cost of a DBS is part of a candidate's onboarding process and will be paid for directly by MTVH.
