Our client, a growing consultancy delivering cutting‑edge AI and data‑led services to government and public sector clients, is looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer to join their forward‑thinking team in Milton Keynes.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and test full stack software in a secure, client‑focused environment.
• Work with modern front‑end technologies (React, TypeScript, HTML/CSS) to deliver intuitive UI/UX.
• Develop robust back‑end services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Create and maintain APIs and integrate with secure relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL).
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including product managers, architects, and public sector stakeholders.
• Contribute to cloud deployment, DevOps practices, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Follow secure coding and authentication best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and produce clear internal documentation.
• Apply innovation to AI‑driven projects used across government departments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience in full‑stack development.
• Strong experience with front‑end (React, JavaScript, TypeScript) and back‑end (Java, Spring Boot) technologies.
• Proven experience designing, building, and testing end‑to‑end web applications.
• Strong understanding of relational databases and query performance (PostgreSQL/MySQL).
• Experience with DevOps and containerisation tools (e.g., Docker, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Ability to work confidently in both Windows and Linux environments.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field – or equivalent practical experience.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
• British citizenship is required due to the nature of the work. Applicants must be eligible for Security Clearance (SC).

Desirable

• Experience deploying AI/machine‑learning‑based applications.
• Previous experience working on secure or air‑gapped systems.
• Familiarity with public sector or defence projects.
• Interest in progressing towards solution architecture or technical leadership.

• Salary: £60,000 – £70,000 depending on experience.
