Our client is looking for a Senior Azure Infrastructure Engineer to join their expanding IT team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring secure, highly available cloud infrastructure operations while supporting major cloud migration and digital transformation projects.
The ideal candidate will have a project-focused mindset, with a strong desire to scope out and deliver new infrastructure projects, while ensuring secure, highly available cloud operations and supporting major digital transformation initiatives.
The Role:
- Oversee the operations and continuous improvement of secure cloud and IT systems, platforms, servers, and networks.
- Plan, configure, and manage cloud migrations in Microsoft Azure with a strong focus on security, efficiency, and cost optimization (FinOps).
- Provide 3rd Line technical support and act as an escalation point for the wider IT support team.
- Lead on projects including MS Exchange, Active Directory, and SharePoint migrations to Azure.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, offering technical guidance for ongoing development and transformation projects.
- Ensure robust data backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategies are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, Build, Configure, and administer Azure Cloud.
- Build, Configure, Deploy, and Administer Cisco Meraki.
- Install, maintain, and upgrade IT infrastructure across cloud environments.
- Monitor and optimize Azure systems, ensuring cost-effective cloud management.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical incidents and problems.
- Deploy new technologies and support cloud-based telephony and virtual networking projects.
- Create and maintain detailed IT systems documentation.
- Mentor junior team members and ensure a culture of knowledge-sharing within the team.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Strong hands-on experience with both Azure and Cisco Meraki.
- Strong experience with Windows Server, Exchange Server (Hybrid setups), and Active Directory management (Hybrid).
- Proven track record in Azure Administration, migrations, and integration services (APIM, Service Bus).
- Working knowledge of Office 365, Cisco Networking, and security best practices for cloud and network infrastructure.
- Familiarity with ITIL service management standards and FinOps practices for cloud cost control.
- Experience with backup, disaster recovery solutions, and cloud security frameworks.
- Exposure to PowerPlatform technologies (PowerApps, PowerAutomate), DevOps, SQL, and SharePoint.
- Microsoft Azure Certified (Desirable).
