We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Religious Education teacher to join our secondary school on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated educator to make a real impact on our students’ understanding of religious and philosophical concepts.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging RE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5)
- Create an inclusive learning environment that respects diverse beliefs and backgrounds
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental planning
- Support students’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and attendance in line with school policies
- Participate in school activities, parents’ evenings and departmental meetings
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Degree in Religious Education, Theology, Religious Studies or related subject
- Experience teaching RE at secondary level
- Strong subject knowledge across major world religions and philosophical themes
- Excellent classroom management skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
Desirable
- Experience teaching examination classes (GCSE/A-Level)
- Knowledge of current RE curriculum developments
- Ability to contribute to wider school life
