Connex Education is working with a mainstream primary school in the Middlesbrough area who are recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to work full-time, working with a child with SEND needs within the school's special needs base. You MUST have the right to work in the UK to apply for this role.

This primary school seeks a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 and group session support for pupils with additional needs. You’ll work closely with the SENCO, contribute to education health care plans, and join a supportive team of specialists. The role involves working with individuals and small groups in a nurturing environment focused on helping every child thrive. You must be comfortable working with children aged 4-11.

Assignment Details:

  • This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday, the right candidate MUST be able to work from 8:30am – 3:30pm.
  • Experience working with special needs is essential for this role; however, we will also consider care experience and nursery-based experience.
  • This role is ongoing and is to start ASAP.

Person Specification:

  • Hold a Relevant Qualification in SEND or Teaching Assistant – desirable
  • Have experience of supporting pupils in a school or similar setting
  • Be confident working with small groups or on a 1:1 basis
  • Good Knowledge of different types of Special Needs
  • Have a current DBS on the update service or willing to apply for a new one with Connex
