About the Role

Connex Education are working in partnership with SEND schools in the Bury area. We are seeking committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to support children and young people with a range of additional needs in specialist education settings. This is a flexible role, ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people and are looking for varied, rewarding work and will be on a short or long-term supply basis.

Roles may include:

  • 1:1 support
  • Small group work
  • Class-based assistance within SEND schools supporting pupils with ASD, SEMH, complex needs and moderate to severe learning difficulties.

About the school

The schools in which we work with cater for pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties, Autism and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties as well as schools which cater for pupils who have social, emotional and mental health difficulties.

Assignment details

The schools have shifts available Monday – Friday, 8.30am until 3.30pm. They are looking for staff members who can commit to full time, or even 1-4 days per week.

Person Specification

  • Experience of supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs either in a school or similar setting.
  • Be willing to provide all aspects of personal care.
  • Have confidence working with students who display challenging behaviours.
  • Be confident working in accordance with individualised learning plans.
  • Have a full enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for a new one.
