Connex Education are seeking SEND Teaching Assistants to work in SEND Schools across Ormskirk, Southport and Formby. This is a flexible role where you can pick and choose how many days you would like to work.
The SEND Schools we are working with cater for pupils aged 2-19 years with a range of needs including Autism, SEMH, SLD, Downs Syndrome, GDD and PMLD. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be required to support pupils on a 1:1 basis, to help break down barriers to learning and to assist with personal care. You will provide emotional support, manage behaviour, help to develop life skills and will work as a team with staff members to create a calm and engaging learning environment.
Assignment details: We have work available now and the hours are Monday-Friday 8.30am until 3.30pm. You can either work day to day or if you are looking for a long-term role we can offer both full-time and long-term. This is a fantastic opportunity to help get your foot in the door of local SEND Schools.

Person specification:
- Experience of supporting children or young adults with additional needs in a school or residential setting
- Be able to provide emotional support, build relationships with pupils and help them to be the best version of themselves
- Able to communicate well and be patient and able to manage behaviour
- Be willing to assist with personal care
- Able to interact well with pupils and staff and able to work well as a team
- Able to provide a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one
