Connex Education is partnering with a SEND school in Tonteg which also has a site in Ynysybwl, RCT to recruit dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistants. While direct experience in special educational needs is not essential, a strong understanding of learners with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and/or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges is highly advantageous. This position is ideal for individuals with a background in mainstream education or those who have experience in care or support roles. This role is to start as soon as possible if you have the correct documentation or from September 2026.

The ideal candidate will provide consistent support while also challenging learners appropriately to foster meaningful progress and personal development.

Person specification:

  • Aged 19 and over
  • C or above in Maths and English GCSE or equivalent
  • Care / Support Worker Background
  • DBS for Child and Adult on the Update Service or willing to obtain one
  • EWC registered
