Salary: £93 – £100 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)

About the role

Connex Education are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Trainee Teaching Assistants to work across a variety of primary schools in Yeovil and the surrounding areas. We have opportunities available on a day-to-day supply basis, as well as short-term and long-term placements starting from September 2026.

This role is ideal for individuals looking to begin a career in education and gain valuable classroom experience while receiving ongoing training and support. As a Trainee Teaching Assistant, you will support teachers in delivering engaging lessons, help pupils access learning, and contribute to creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment in either EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

Person Specification

  • A genuine interest in working with children and pursuing a career in education
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive, adaptable and enthusiastic attitude
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
  • Experience working with children is desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge of Phonics and Read, Write Inc. is desirable
  • Must hold a DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one
