About the Role
Connex Education is recruiting passionate ECTs and experienced English Teachers for opportunities starting in September 2026. We are currently supporting a number of friendly and inclusive secondary schools across Bristol, with roles available on both a short-term and long-term basis from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic English Teachers looking to further their career within supportive school environments that value high-quality teaching, inclusion, and pupil achievement.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and inspiring English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
- Teach a broad English curriculum, including Language and Literature
- Adapt teaching and learning activities to support pupils with SEND and additional learning needs
- Create a positive and purposeful classroom environment that promotes creativity, resilience, and good behaviour
- Use effective questioning, discussion, and a variety of teaching strategies to make English accessible and engaging
- Mark work, assess progress, and provide constructive feedback to support pupil achievement in English
- Build positive working relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues to promote learning and wellbeing
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) preferred, although strong secondary teaching experience in English will also be considered
- A passionate and engaging teaching style with confidence in delivering English lessons
- Strong subject knowledge across the English curriculum
- Commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within the classroom
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through Connex Education
