Connex Education are working with a SEND primary school in Widnes who are looking for a Teacher to join their team. This role is due to start ASAP. The school provides high quality care and education to primary aged students with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD). Students at this school have additional needs such as Autism, Down Syndrome, Global Development Delay and may be pre / non‑verbal.

The school is heavily staffed with dedicated Teaching Assistants and Teachers who strive to provide the best possible outcomes for all students, promoting independence and life skills. Due to the needs of the students at this school, some may present challenging behaviours. Well equipped with sensory rooms, gardens and a swimming pool, this school needs a teacher who can fit their values and deliver an EYFS curriculum to Year 3 and 4 students. This role has an immediate start date and the Head is looking to meet with teachers ASAP. Working Monday - Friday from 8.30am until 3.30pm, for the right applicant, this role could run into the new academic year.

Person Specification:

  • Have experience or a strong interest in teaching students with SEND
  • Experience and confidence delivering the EYFS curriculum
  • Confidence when working in a team designing and delivering personalised learning plans
  • Be resilient and patient when dealing with dysregulation and challenging behaviours
