Connex Education are looking for a Teaching Assistant to work in a SEND school in Widnes.

The school caters for children in Key Stage 1 whose primary need is Severe Learning Difficulties – some students may have further needs such as severe language and communication needs and Pica. The staff here provide specialised education tailored to each student's needs and abilities. The school is well equipped with resources and equipment to ensure students are stimulated, happy and sensory/emotional needs are met.

Assignment Details:

  • The school are looking for someone who can commit Monday – Friday, but will also consider part time/job shares for suitable applicants.

Person Specification:

  • Experience of working with SEND or Early Years in either a school or residential setting
  • Be willing to provide all aspects of personal care
  • Have strong de-escalation skills
  • Be a team player, working with class teachers and support staff to deliver appropriate lesson plans
  • Have confidence or experience when working in accordance to Education Health Care Plans (EHCP)
  • Have a full enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for a new one
