We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support across the English Department supporting students beginning ASAP. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping students achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group academic support for GCSE English students
  • Help students develop effective study skills and revision strategies
  • Support classroom teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive learning experiences
  • Provide additional learning resources and academic guidance
  • Monitor student progress and report back to lead teachers
  • Create a supportive and motivational learning environment

Essential Requirements

  • Strong academic background with good GCSE or A-Level results
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Patience and ability to work with teenagers
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check required
  • Ability to provide constructive and positive academic support

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience working with GCSE-age students
  • Subject specialism in English
  • Additional teaching or mentoring experience
  • Understanding of current GCSE curriculum

Successful candidates will be required to conduct an interview and complete a vetting process which includes an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS. If you do not have one, you can get one through Connex Education at the cost of £58.
