Connex Education is recruiting motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Cover Supervisors for a variety of short-term and long-term opportunities starting in September 2026. This position is ideal for graduates or individuals with a strong interest in education who are considering a future career in teaching. Working within secondary schools across Swindon and surrounding areas, you will gain valuable classroom-based experience, build confidence managing groups of students, and develop essential skills for a career within education.
The Role
- Deliver pre-set lessons to classes of up to 30 pupils
- Maintain a positive and productive classroom environment
- Support students to stay engaged with their learning
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Gain experience across a range of secondary school settings
- Ensure lessons continue smoothly during teacher absences

What We’re Looking For
- A degree is preferred and an interest in working within education
- Individuals considering a career in teaching or school-based support work
- Strong communication skills, confidence, and a proactive attitude

- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures (training can be provided)
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through Connex Education
