Rate of Pay: £13.00–£14.50 per hour

About the Role
Are you an experienced School Caretaker looking for your next opportunity in Swindon? Connex Education is recruiting a reliable and experienced School Caretaker to join a welcoming school on a long-term basis.
This is a long-term temporary role for the first academic term, with the potential for the position to become a permanent contracted role for the right candidate. Previous experience working as a School Caretaker is essential, and we’re looking for someone who can take pride in maintaining a safe, clean, secure, and welcoming school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general maintenance and caretaking duties across the school site.
- Ensure the school buildings and grounds are safe, secure, and well maintained.
- Complete routine checks and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
- Carry out minor repairs and basic maintenance where required.
- Support the opening and closing of the school site.
- Assist with health and safety checks and ensure site procedures are followed.
- Maintain clean, tidy, and presentable external areas.
- Work closely with school staff to respond to site-related issues.
- Support contractors and visitors attending the school when required.
- Help maintain a safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.

Job Requirements
- Previous experience working as a School Caretaker is essential.
- Experience carrying out general maintenance and caretaking duties.
- Good knowledge of health and safety procedures.
- Ability to identify and report maintenance and site issues.Reliable, organised, and able to work independently.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive approach to maintaining a safe and well-presented school environment.
- Ability to build positive relationships with school staff, pupils, and visitors.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
- Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
