About the Role
Connex Education is recruiting Supply Teaching Assistants to work across primary schools in Hilton, Etwall, Repton, Hatton, Findern and the wider DE65 area from September 2026.
With the new academic year approaching, now is a great time to complete your registration and get ready for flexible work in local primary schools this September.
As a Supply Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, working alongside class teachers to create a positive and engaging classroom environment.
Depending on the placement, you may provide whole-class support, work with small groups or support individual pupils on a one-to-one basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
- Assist the class teacher with lessons, activities and classroom routines.
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement throughout the school day.
- Help pupils access learning and build their confidence.
- Provide additional support to pupils with learning or behavioural needs where required.
- Assignment Details
- Flexible full-time and part-time opportunities available.
- Day-to-day supply, short-term and long-term placements.
- Work available across Hilton, Etwall, Repton, Hatton, Findern and the wider DE65 area.
- Opportunities across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

Person Specification
We're looking for candidates who have
- Recent experience working with children in a UK primary school or similar educational setting.
- GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above.
- Confidence supporting pupils individually and in small groups.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional, patient approach.
- A reliable and flexible attitude with the ability to adapt to different school environments.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
