About the Role

Are you a passionate Sports Coach looking to make a difference in secondary schools? Connex Education is looking for enthusiastic, energetic, and reliable Sports Coaches to work across secondary schools in Stroud and the surrounding areas from September 2026 through to July 2027. Whether you’re looking for full‑time or part‑time work, we have a range of flexible long‑term and short‑term placements available to suit your schedule. In this role, you’ll deliver PE lessons, support students in developing confidence and teamwork through sport, and provide general classroom cover where required. No previous school teaching experience is necessary – we’ll provide full training before you begin, giving you the skills and confidence to succeed in the classroom. This is a fantastic opportunity for sports coaches, personal trainers, fitness instructors, or anyone with a coaching background who is looking for rewarding term‑time work in education. Working hours are typically 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday, with opportunities available between 2 and 5 days per week to fit around your lifestyle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging PE lessons across secondary schools.
  • Provide general classroom cover for pre‑planned lessons when required.
  • Motivate and encourage students to participate in physical activity and learning.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively and create a positive learning environment.
  • Build positive relationships with students and school staff.
  • Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times.

Person Specification

  • Experience coaching sports, leading physical activities, or working with young people.
  • A positive, enthusiastic, and adaptable approach.
  • Confident leading groups and managing behaviour.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a car is essential, as you’ll be working across a number of local secondary schools.
