Role: SENTeaching Assistant
Location: St Helens
Salary: £90-110 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
About the Role
We are currently seeking experienced SEN teaching assistants for upcoming roles across the St Helens area. We are actively working with a number of primary schools across the borough who are recruiting for 1:1 specialists on a part-time and full-time basis.
These roles will involve supporting pupils with SEN (ASD/ADHD), candidates with experience in 1:1 or SEN roles is desirable. We are also particularly interested in candidates who have experience in speech and language therapy. The hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30-3:30. Opportunities for permanent recruitment available for the successful candidate in the 2026/7 academic year.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Level 2/3 teaching assistant qualification is desirable; however, those with relevant school experience will also be considered.
- GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above for both) or equivalent Level 2.
- Current DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for a new one through Connex.
- Experience working across the primary curriculum
- Experience working with SEN pupils, particularly ASD
