About the Role
Connex Education is recruiting psychology students and graduates who are looking to gain hands-on experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) within mainstream primary schools across Taunton and the surrounding areas from September 2026. This opportunity is ideal for psychology graduates, aspiring educational psychologists, clinical psychologists, child psychologists, therapists, counsellors, teachers, or individuals looking to build experience in education, SEND, mental health, child development, or behaviour support. Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups throughout the school day
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and accessible learning activities
- Support pupils with communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, behaviour, confidence, and learning needs
- Use a reflective, nurturing approach to support individual learning needs and Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets where applicable
