About the role:

Connex Education is in partnership with a vibrant Primary School within the Shepshed area to recruit a SEN Teaching Assistant providing 1:1 support to work on a regular relief cover basis starting ASAP. You will have strong teamwork skills as the school has a key focus on teamwork and collaboration to achieve student and school goals. This school is at the heart of a thriving and creative community, and you will need to meet high standards and match the ambitious expectations alongside the staff and governors. A key ethos and aim for this school are to ensure all learners are provided focused support to ensure excellent progress is made.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a dynamic and inclusive classroom setting. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other staff to create a positive learning environment that fosters the academic, social, and emotional development of each child. Person Specification:

  • Experience working in an educational environment with children aged between 4 and 11 years.
  • Be willing to support on a 1:1 basis or work in small groups with children
  • Have behaviour management skills
  • Knowledge of Phonics and Read, Write Inc
  • Be organised and reliable
  • Have a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to process a new one
  • Willing to go the extra mile!
