About the role

The school are currently seeking an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant that can provide our pupils the additional support they need to reach those dreams. If you are the proactive type with a strong passion for education and love to give your job 100% then this role could be perfect for you. You will need to be confident going into a classroom and building strong relationships with pupils in both small groups and on a 1:1 basis. The school are looking for a capable individual that understands being a SEMH Teaching Assistant is not simply a job role, it is a way of life. Role Requirements
- Previous experience working as a youth mentor or offence officer would be desirable.
- Previous experience working directly with SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) needs or a background in Mental Health.
- Working in a care background would be considered.
- A commitment to promoting equality and diversity in the classroom.
- An understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through Connex Education.
