Location: North Somerset

Salary: £150 – £300 per day (depending on experience and responsibilities)

About the Role

Connex Education is seeking enthusiastic, resilient and committed SEND Teachers for a number of specialist school settings in North Somerset to support children and young people with complex needs. This is an excellent opportunity for teachers who are looking for a new challenge and want to make a genuine, lasting difference to pupils who require a highly personalised approach to learning. These settings include all-age specialist provisions who support pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and complex needs. Many pupils also have diagnoses including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD and attachment-related difficulties, and may present with high anxiety or additional behavioural needs. We are recruiting for flexible supply, short-term and long-term teaching opportunities, offering variety and the chance to work in a highly supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs
  • Develop and implement personalised learning programmes in line with EHCP targets
  • Track, assess, and report on pupil progress effectively
  • Support pupils with non-verbal or pre-verbal communication needs
  • Create a structured, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Use positive and consistent behaviour support strategies
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and wider school teams
  • Support pupils with high anxiety and complex behavioural needs
  • Encourage pupils to achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) required
  • Experience working with pupils with SEND, SLD, ASC, ADHD, or attachment needs
  • Ability to deliver engaging and motivating lessons
  • Experience with personalised learning and progress tracking
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A calm, resilient, and adaptable approach
  • Passion for inclusive education and improving outcomes for vulnerable learners
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply through Connex Education
  • Right to work in the UK
