Location: Rednal, Birmingham
Pay: £20–£25 per hour (depending on experience)
Job Type: Part-time, 3-5 days per week

Inspire a Love of Science Through One-to-One Tuition

Connex Education Partnership is looking for passionate and knowledgeable Science Tutors to provide one-to-one tuition for secondary-aged pupils in Rednal. You’ll deliver personalised lessons that help students build confidence, improve their understanding of science, and achieve their academic goals.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support learners who need additional academic guidance, whether they’re preparing for GCSEs, catching up on missed learning, or working towards improved attainment.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Deliver tailored one-to-one Science tuition to secondary-aged pupils.
  • Support students across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, depending on their individual needs.
  • Plan engaging lessons that develop:
    • Scientific knowledge and understanding
    • Practical and investigative skills
    • Exam techniques and revision strategies
    • Confidence in applying scientific concepts
  • Adapt your teaching to suit each learner’s ability and learning style.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and their families.
  • Monitor progress and provide regular feedback.
  • Create a supportive, engaging, and encouraging learning environment.

Location

We are currently recruiting for tuition opportunities in:

  • Rednal
  • Longbridge
  • Rubery
  • Northfield
  • Kings Norton
  • Surrounding areas

Working Pattern

  • Monday to Friday
  • Minimum of 2 hours per day, per pupil
  • Additional hours availableFlexible working to fit around your availability

What We’re Looking For

  • Teaching experience (QTS or non-QTS)
  • Must be comfortable and familiar with lesson planning
  • Strong knowledge of secondary Science (Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics)
  • Experience supporting students working towards GCSEs is desirable
  • Good understanding of the National Curriculum
  • Patient, adaptable, and engaging approach to teaching
  • Experience in schools, alternative provisions, or home tuition is desirable
  • Driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred, but not essential
