About Us
Saint Paul’s is a thriving secondary school committed to providing excellent science education to our students. Our well-equipped science department supports teaching across Biology, Chemistry and Physics from Key Stage 3 through to A-Level.
The Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Science Technician to join our team immediately. You will provide vital support to our science teachers by preparing equipment and materials for practical lessons, maintaining laboratories, and ensuring health and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing apparatus, materials, and solutions for practical lessons
- Setting up equipment for demonstrations and class experiments
- Maintaining science equipment, laboratories, and preparation areas
- Managing chemical stock and ordering supplies
- Supporting teachers during practical sessions when required
- Ensuring compliance with COSHH and health and safety regulations
- Disposing of waste materials appropriately
- Providing technical advice to staff and students
Requirements
- Experience in a laboratory environment (school experience preferable but not essential)
- Good knowledge of science practical work across Biology, Chemistry and Physics
- Understanding of health and safety regulations in a laboratory setting
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good IT skills
- A science-related qualification is desirable
