About the role:
Connex Education are working with a SEND School in Wirral who are looking for local carers who are interested in working in Education as a SEND Teaching Assistant. The School caters for pupils 2-11 years with complex SEND needs. They are seeking support workers who have experience working in residential homes, hospitals or as a personal assistant.

This School caters for pupils aged 2-11 years who have complex SEND and are supported by an Education Health care plan. They have fantastic on-site facilities and actively seek opportunities beyond the classroom through community visits and real-world experiences. All staff put the children at the heart of everything they do and create a fun, calm and engaging learning environment.
As a Support Worker you will have transferable skills and we will provide you with CPD to help transition your skills into Education.
Assignment details:
This School Support Worker role will commence 3rd September 2026, this is a full time role. The hours consist of working 8.30am-3.30pm. This role is temp to perm.

Person specification:
- Experience of supporting children or adults as a Support Worker
- A genuine passion of wanting to help children develop and succeed
- A good understanding of Special Needs and how to provide a child-centered approach
- Be willing to provide personal care.
- Be able to work as a team with other class TA’s to help create a calm and engaging learning environment.
- The ability to build positive and professional relationships with pupils
- Confident in dealing with challenging behaviour, identifying triggers and using de-escalation techniques.
- Be willing to adapt and move around classrooms if needed
- Able to provide a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
