About the Role
Connex Education is recruiting passionate and dedicated SEND & SEMH Teachers to work with a Trust that we are currently working with. The Trust places learners, families, and our passionate workforce at the heart of everything they do, guided by values of inclusion, care, and empowerment. The role offers the chance to work within specialist settings supporting pupils with a range of additional needs including SEMH, ASD, SLD, MLD, communication needs and complex learning difficulties. Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to individual pupil needs
- Support pupils with SEND and SEMH needs to achieve both academically and personally
- Create a positive, structured and nurturing classroom environment
- Use creative and adaptable teaching strategies to support engagement and progress
- Manage behaviour positively and consistently in line with school policies
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, pastoral teams and parents/carers
- Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing feedback and adapting support where required
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) preferred, although relevant SEND teaching experience will also be considered
- Experience working with pupils with SEND, SEMH, ASD, SLD, or additional learning needs
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- A calm, resilient and adaptable approach
- Passion for supporting vulnerable children and young people
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through Connex Education
- Right to work in the UK
